TEACHER Ben Sumners has undertaken one of the toughest cycle rides in Europe to raise funds for St Margaret’s Hospice.
Ben, 38, raised over £1,700 in memory of his mother, Sue, who was cared for in the Bishop’s Hull hospice.
He completed five demanding climbs and descents in the Mount Ventoux Cycling Challenge in one day, the equivalent to scaling Ben Nevis six times.
Ben, deputy head of St Michael’s Junior School in Bath, said: “The quality of care St Margaret’s offered my mum was outstanding and I wanted to ensure that other families had the same experience and support for their loved ones.”
