THOUSANDS of children and adults enjoyed an afternoon of fun activities in French Weir Park in Taunton on Sunday.
The annual Fun in the Park event is organised by the Friends of French Weir Park and this year it saw families taking part in activities such as archery, rowing and den building.
Children had the chance to design their own magical monsters in a Beastly Beasts and Magical Monsters workshop with Taunton illustrator Steve Simsheld, while Glastonbury children's author Beth Webb entertained visitors by telling tales.
There were also two sword-fighting displays by Taunton Longswords, who later held training sessions for the families.
The event, which was originally set to take place in August but was postponed due to Hurricane Bertha, saw over two thousand visitors to French Weir Park.
Event organiser Amber Packer-Hughes said: “The event was hugely successful and the Taunton Longswords were very popular.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to Taunton Deane Council for funding the event and who make it possible for the event to be free.”
