A MAN was punched in the face by a woman and had his phone stamped on by a man in Minehead on September 21.

Police have just released details of the assault, which happened at the junction of Summerland Avenue and Tregonwell Road.

A 5ft 1in woman with purple hair approached a man who was walking from the station car park between 12-12.15am.

The woman asked the man to confirm his name before punching him in the face.

He tried to take his phone from his pocket but a man who was with the woman knocked it out of his hand on to the floor and then stamped on it.

The two suspects are described as white woman, about 5ft 1ins tall with purple hair and a man, who is described as being about 6ft 1ins tall and wearing a white top and blue jeans.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have any information.
