PUPILS at Kingsmead School took a break from the classroom for a day of activities as part of a Challenge Day.
Year 7 pupils went to Hestercombe Gardens to work on team building skills, while year 8 carried out surveys of trees and wildlife as part of Eco Day.
Year 9 pupils began planning for the future with a taster day at Bridgwater College.
There were taster sessions in music technology, animal welfare, fashion design, engineering and automotive engineering, while the Suzuki School Anthem Project worked with music students to compose an anthem reflecting the ethos and values of Kingsmead.
Musician Johnny Mars led the sessions, and the students worked hard writing, singing and recording the anthem.
Johnny said: “It has been wonderful working with Kingsmead students.
“This ‘Dare to Dream’ project will open doors for them and build their confidence to achieve what they couldn’t or were too shy to do, all while having fun and learning.”
