TWO West Somerset College students have proved themselves to be on the ball after being selected for the Somerset County Football squad.
Cameron Sanford and George Morris- Edwards competed against 80 footballers to prove they could represent at a county level.
From 40 players, the squad was then cut down to 16 players with Cameron and George selected.
Both have received an email confirming they were in the squad and are looking forward to their first game in Middlesex.
Cameron and George said of their achievement: “We both played exceptionally and walked away from the trial pleased with what we had produced for Kevin Wagland the Somerset U16 manager.”
Steve Jeffs PE teacher and football academy manger added: “Cameron and George’s achievement is evidence that hard work and persistence pays off.
“They have been training in Yeovil for a long time now and it’s a fantastic opportunity for them and I hope they can continue their successful progression in the sport.”
