WORK has started on a petrol filling station at a Wellington business park, which will bring 23 new jobs to the area.

Summerfield has started work at Westpark 26, a 50-acre mixed-use business park in Chelston, Wellington – less than one mile from Junction 26 of the M5.

The site will be transformed over the coming months to provide a filling station offering Shell fuel, complete with car and jet wash facilities.

A Budgens mini-supermarket will also be on site, as well as Subway and Costa Coffee outlets.

Work has commenced on site and, with a fast turnaround of 16 weeks for the build, recruitment is already underway by the various operators for the anticipated 23 new jobs the development will create when the facility opens in March 2015.

With a canopy design, the site will provide improved access and a new exit for the facilities – which will include eight fuel pumps and two HGV pumps.

Parking for around 20 vehicles, including dedicated disabled bays, will be available, as will landscaped external seating areas.
