TV and pop star Peter Andre was the star turn at a Christmas event at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital last night.
Peter, who is engaged to former Richard Huish College student Emily MacDonagh, attended the Love Musgrove Magical Christmas Wish Tree Event.
Peter, who had a string of hit singles in the 1990s before going on to forge a successful TV career, met Emily through her surgeon father, Dr Ruaraidh ‘Ru’ MacDonagh, who operated on Peter in 2010 to remove his kidney stones.
Emily gave birth to the couple’s daughter Amelia at Musgrove in January. Last night’s event marked the first Christmas since the opening of the Jubilee Building.
Love Musgrove, which is the hospital’s charity, set up the Christmas ‘Wish Tree’ in the building’s concourse where staff, visitors and patients can write their Christmas wishes and memories, in return for a donation.
The event included carols and complementary mince pies.
