THE number of apprenticeship vacancies has hit a high as employers around the UK look to back a new generation of workers.
In Somerset there was a 30% rise in vacancies for apprentices posted online on the apprenticeship vacancies website between August and October, 2014, compared to the same period in 2013.
Nationally, the information released this week also reveals a 28% increase across the country during the same period with 46,920 vacancies advertised over the three months as opposed to 36,690 in 2013.
