STAFF and locals from Dunster celebrated the Luttrell Arms’ second anniversary under new ownership with a healthy slice of cake and a toast to the future of this historic hotel this week.

Since being rescued from administration by the Way family in 2013, over £250,000 has been spent on improvements to the hotel.

The hotel’s focus on sourcing local ales and ciders has proved particularly popular and has resulted in it being recognised nationally in the 2015 CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

The Luttrell Arms’ marketing manager, Becca Way, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating our second full year at the Luttrell Arms Hotel.

Dunster is a wonderful village where we have a lot of good friends.

It’s been two years of hard work but we’ve made huge strides in returning this landmark hotel, which was much in need of love and investment, to its rightful place as one of Exmoor’s leading hotels.”

Nigel Way, who owns the hotel with his wife, Anne, added: “Investing in any historic hotel is always a major undertaking, but we understand the care, attention to detail, and long-term commitment that’s required to make a hotel like the Luttrell Arms a genuine success.”
