AN organisation offering practical support and emotional help to the families of Norton Manor Camp-based 40 Commando Royal Marines is to receive a £800 grant from Taunton Deane Council.
4-40 Volunteers will use the handout towards administration costs of a Helpline, course trainers and updating and providing continuous assessment of its volunteers.
The council is also giving £600 to the Rockwell Green branch of the Old Age Pensioners Association to increase membership and the opportunities offered to pensioners in this area.
And the Corfe Car Scheme, which provides transport and a prescription pick up service for the over-60s, gets £500.
The money comes from the Deane’s Voluntary and Community Sector fund.
