CHILDREN from four primary schools got Easter Cracked at a church initiative.
Christians played out the events leading up to Christ’s Crucifixion and the Resurrection, setting off from St Andrew’s Church, with Jesus on a real donkey.
They then went to Rowbarton Methodist Church, where scenes such as Jesus turfing the traders out of the temple, the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane, Christ’s arrest and trial were played out.
Everyone then followed Christ with his cross back to St Andrew’s, where he was ‘crucified’ before rising again.
Year 5 and 6 pupils from St Andrew’s, Staplegrove, Norton Fitzwarren and Wellsprings Primary Schools who attended went away with goody bags with symbols of what they had learnt.
