STUDENTS from West Somerset Community College have launched their own brand Fairtrade tea in partnership with local merchant Miles Tea.

Mabale Tea, a blend of Ugandan tea, went on sale during Minehead's Fairtrade Fortnight at a launch at the town's Regal Theatre.

The launch follows the visit to Minehead last year of Fairtrade tea producer Silver Kasoro-Atwoki, director of Mabale Tea Growers Factory in Uganda, who asked the college to consider a Fairtrade Partnership with his community and its school.
