SOME of the world’s top educational institutions are visiting Taunton School next month.

They are attending the school’s fourth North American Universities Fair on Wednesday, May 6, from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

With places offered free of charge, more than 100 students from schools across the South-West have already booked to attend.

Taunton School’s head of careers Richard Judd said: “If you want to stand out from the crowd, then studying abroad will certainly enhance your CV.

“Furthermore, the experience of living and studying in a cross-cultural environment is great preparation for working within the global economy.

“North American universities offer many more lecturer contact hours a week than most UK courses and a greater emphasis on continuous assessment and work-based learning – this may suit a student’s particular learning preferences.

“Our North American Fair gives both parents and students the opportunity to explore university life across ‘The Pond’.

“With universities from both the USA and Canada attending, along with talks about their distinctive approaches to undergraduate education, our event which allows you to talk face to face with university representatives and advisors.”
