HATCH Beauchamp Primary School was turned into an American museum for a day last week.

The pupils were inspired by a visit to Bath's American Museum and opened their pop-up version with artefacts, articles on the history and geography of the Americas, interactive areas, a cafe and shop.

Somerset County Gazette:

Scores of people visited the museum with the aid of maps and guides drawn by the children.

They were able to see Grey Wolf in full native American dress, the Boots and Saddles Western Display and Living History Club and Coral Storey, who provided a real polar bear skin to display.

Somerset County Gazette:

The day ended with a spectacular finale of a simulated cowboy gun battle on the front lawn.

The day raised £168 for the Polar Bear International charity.
