A DRUNKEN Taunton man thrown out of a nightclub started spitting blood and rubbing it over his face, a court heard.

Shaun Aaron Walsh, who had been assaulted began shouting threats in the street, but when police told him to go home he tried to force his way back into the club.

Walsh, 22, of Station Road, who has previous convictions for violence and criminal damage, was arrested and last week appeared before Somerset Magistrates, when he pleaded guilty to drunk and disorderly behaviour.

Lucy Coleman, prosecuting, said that just before 2am the police were made aware of the defendant who was being ejected from a Yeovil nightclub.

She said: “It was clear he was drunk or under the influence of something and was acting in a strange manner, jumping from one foot to the other.

“He smelt strongly of alcohol and his eyes were glazed and his speech was slurred and he also appeared very agitated.

“He then shouted out, ‘I’m going to bang him out. Bring him over here’ and was spitting blood and rubbing it all over his face.

“He said he was not a grass when asked to make a complaint about allegedly being assaulted so they told him to go home or he would be arrested.”

Walsh told them to arrest him and then tried to get back into the club so was quickly arrested.

The court heard that the defendant had been sentenced to a community order at Taunton Crown Court in March for offences of violence and criminal damage.

Walsh told the magistrates he did not really think about what he was doing at the time and committed the offence because he was very drunk that night.

“I don’t want to get into trouble and am trying to sort my life out and just wished it had not happened,” he said.

“I am now getting help from the Probation Service and am doing work with alcohol and anger management.”

The magistrates imposed a 12-month conditional discharge on the defendant and ordered him to pay a £150 courts charge and a £15 victim surcharge.
