MORE than 100 children turned out to take part in the inaugural Longrun Meadow Park Run at French Weir Park on Sunday morning.
A total of 187 children between the ages of four and 14 took to the track, as the event became one of 46 junior events currently running nationwide – and the first of its kind in Somerset.
A post on the event’s Facebook page said: “Once again we were blessed with perfect weather and were secretly hoping for a magic 100 children, but we were completely overwhelmed by 178 smiling faces.
“All the children were amazing and the event ran very smoothly.”
