A TAUNTON school is calling on the services of an entertainer to take the Christian message to the community.

The St Augustine of Canterbury School - a joint Church of England/Roman Catholic secondary school - is hosting an evening with Christian writer, director and actor Dave Jenkins.

Young and old, churchgoers and non-churchgoers alike are invited to The World Made Fresh at 6.30pm on Sunday, April 22.

People will be taken on a journey through the Bible, meeting characters such as Moses, Peter and Paul.

St Augustine's lay chaplain Liz Lewis said: "This is part of our school outreach.

"We hope young people and their parents will be encouraged to get involved in church life through seeing these stories in a new light.

"It is also hoped that youth groups will attend and churches will be encouraged to cancel their evening services and come along."
