MOTORISTS are being reminded by police not to leave items on view in their vehicles.
The warning follows the theft of a rucksack from a vehicle parked near Dead Woman's Ditch, on Quantock Common, between 5pm and 5.30pm on Sunday.
The culprit smashed a window and took the bag containing a mobile phone, a book and some alcohol while the owners went for a walk.
Insp Richard Caburn said: "We would remind people not to leave items on display in unattended vehicles."
