MAYOR Dave Durdan receives a cheque from choir chairman Tony Slavin watched by Mayoress Renee Durdan and choir committee members.
A CONCERT featuring Taunton Deane Male Voice Choir and blues singer Johnny Mars raised £1,158 for the Taunton Deane Mayor's charity.
Cllr Dave Durdan, whose granddaughter Sophie sang at the event, saw the amount doubled by Santander and has accepted a cheque on behalf of Somerset Community Foundation, which strengthens communities, tackles disadvantage and transforms people’s lives.
The choir’s publicity officer Steven Reed said: “This was a truly memorable concert which confirms the choir's ability to assist local fundraisers to hit their targets.
“Over £11000 was raised for good causes last season and it is hoped to break that record by the end of this one.”
