THOUSANDS of people from all over the country will be making their annual pilgrimage to Somerset in July to attend the 24th Newt Beer and Music Festival.

The festival is held at North Newton between Bridgwater and Taunton on Friday, July 10 from 6pm until 1am and Saturday 11, noon to 1am.

The Newt is famous for the wide selection of real ales and the variety of music.

This year there will be over 100 real ales and ciders from breweries all over the country plus lager and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There will be a yard of ale contest on the Saturday afternoon at 3pm in the main marquee.

Among the bands playing during the festival will be on the Friday the UK’s best Coldplay tribute band Coldplace and the UK’s best Oasis tribute band Oas-is along with The Blue Baboon and Cable Co.

On Saturday afternoon the bands that take to the stage are The Hardy Fentons, Delta 88, The Blue Horizon.

The headline band on the Saturday will be the fantastic The Special Brew, a Bad Manners tribute band, Filta, Green Haze a Green Day tribute band, Nicholas Heale and Lakota 5.

The cost of entry this year is £10 per person on the Friday, £15 per person on the Saturday, or £20 for a weekend ticket.
