THE RSPCA at West Hatch is appealing for volunteers at its fun day and dog show on Saturday (September 12).

Tasks include manning stalls, helping with car parking, selling cakes and refreshments and running children’s crafts and games.

They are also looking for people who are good at face and nail painting for the event between 11am and 3pm.

Centre manager Bel Deering said: “Being a volunteer for the day should be a lot of fun, and what’s even better is that it’s for a good cause.

“The centre rescues and rehabilitates a wide range of animals, from dogs to buzzards to bats. Whatever animals you like, there’s something for everyone.

“No matter what skills you are able to offer, we have a job for you.”

The centre also welcomes donations of homemade cakes to sell and tombola and raffle prizes such as chocolates and wine.

Visitors at the fun day will be able to enjoy tours of the wildlife centre and various stalls, raffles and games.

Dog owners are encouraged to take along their pooches to enter in the fun dog show - classes include best sausage catcher and waggiest tail, while there is also a dog agility course.

For younger visitors, there is a bouncy castle, the opportunity to meet a Shire horse and have their photo taken in the RSPCA boat dressed as an inspector.

There is an exciting attraction for Frozen fans, who can meet Olaf the snowman, and anyone wearing a Frozen outfit will receive a small treat.

Refreshments available include a tea tent, cake stall, ice cream and burger van.

Entry is £2 entry or free for under 15s.
