SOMERSET charities have the chance to host a free event in a spectacular backdrop with a new competition.
Quantock Lakes near Nether Stowey are looking for Somerset charities to enter a 50 word description of the type of event they would like to run and the winning charity will get the chance to host a fundraising event at the venue for up to 250 people.
Established seven years ago, Quantock Lakes is a family run venue with a newly converted barn which overlooks the lake.
A spokesman for Quantock Lakes said: "Trying to keep the costs down for Charity Fundraising events is always a challenge, so we have decided that we would like to help out.
"Just bear in mind that this is not a writing competition! We just want to hear your heartfelt reasons."
Entrants should aim for between 100-250 guests, must be based in Somerset and add a preferred date between November 2015-March 2016.
The closing date is September 18 with results being announced a week later, and all entries should be sent to Nadine@quantockevents.co.uk.
