A Taunton pre-school has had a full makeover of its arts and crafts room and a new kitchen for the staff, thanks to Redrow South West.

Taunton Opportunity Group (TOG) is a small pre-school specialising in supporting families with babies and young children who have a wide range of special needs. The rooms at the pre-school were in much need of attention as they had not been renovated for 15 years.

Redrow, with the help of Ralleys, who maintain the housebuilder’s showhomes, completed the work ahead of the new school term by fitting new kitchen units in the arts and crafts room to help keep the area clean and tidy post play time. In addition, the staff were treated to a brand new kitchen so they can enjoy their breaks in comfort.

Richard Brown, Vice Chairman for Taunton Opportunity Group, said: “In order to run TOG effectively and maintain the very high standards we have set, we rely on over £20,000 of donations each year. Redrow’s support was gratefully received, especially as the arts and crafts room and kitchen have not been updated since we moved to our new premises in 2000.

“The children and parents are really happy with the new kitchen, each morning they enjoy a period of ‘free play’, which is adapted to meet every individual need. They can take part in a wide variety of activities, including sensory, water and messy play so the area which Redrow has kindly renovated for us is used on a daily basis.”

Greg Allsop, area sales manager for Redrow South West, said: “The local communities in which we build are extremely important to Redrow, so to be able to support Taunton Opportunity Group is very rewarding and we are extremely pleased with the results.”

Redrow has a couple of developments near Taunton, including The Heathfields and Deer Park, both in Monkton Heathfield. To find out more, visit: www.redrow.co.uk.
