THE largest hoard of Bronze Age gold ever discovered in Somerset goes on display in Taunton tomorrow (Wednesday).

The 3,000-year-old treasure, found at Priddy, in the Mendip Hills, has been bought by Somerset County Museum, for £38,000.

The jewellery was discovered as a large ball of tightly intertwined metals in November 2005 - once prised apart it was revealed to be a collection of 17 bracelets and neck ornaments known as torcs.

For more on the 'Priddy Hoard', see Thursday's Somerset County Gazette.
