MORE than 150 primary school children descended on Court Fields school for a day of sporting games.
The pupils came from the Wellington secondary’s feeder schools – St John’s, Wellesley Park, Rockwell Green, Sampford Arundel and Beech Grove primary school.
Elizabeth Lees, event organiser at Court Fields, said: “It was fantastic. It was part of the initiative for primary age children to be involved in sport."
For every year group they get two festivals a year.”
Two schools, Langford Budville and West Buckland, also usually attend, but were unable to on this occasion.
Elizabeth added: “I would just like to say a big thank you to the sports leaders. The sports leaders are in Year 8 and 9.
“We do a little bit of training with them, and they did brilliantly well.”
Court Fields next festival is on October 16 with Year 2 pupils.
