THE model rail hobby is in the spotlight on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25 when Rail Ex returns to Taunton School.

The event plays host to some of the largest and highest quality model railways that can be found in the South of England and Wales.

The annual show has developed an excellent reputation among the model railway community for excellence but also for its relaxed and friendly feel.

The model railway exhibits cover all the main scales and range from the enormous 40ft to the compact 5ft in length.

The event has something for all the family from granddad to grandchildren.

While being astounded by the detail and quality of modelling, children can play with Brio wooden railway and complete two age related trails around the venue.

Take a well-earned rest in the highly recommended Taunton School restaurant serving snacks, drinks and main meals including Sunday roast.

Younger children might want to bring a small step to aid viewing and Sunday is a quieter day and hence would result in an enhanced experience.
