A TABLE top sale is to kick off a 12-month fund raising campaign by Holford-based Moon Bear Rescue.
The charity helps fight to free Chinese Moon bears kept in captivity for their stomach bile, used in Chinese medicine.
Lee Gibbins, organiser of Moon Bear Rescue, said: "Every penny raised will go directly towards helping the Animals Asia Foundation to free these beautiful bears from their cages on bear farms and to negotiate with the Chinese government to ban the cruel trade in bear bile.
"Seven thousand Moon bears farmed in the most horrendous conditions are relying on animal friendly people all over the world to raise enough to help AAF achieve its ambitious goal of closing down the bear farms forever."
She said the sale would include a teddy tombola, giant raffle and refreshments.
Taking place at Holford village hall on Sunday, May 27, the sale starts at 2pm.
