THE Blake Museum is celebrating after being awarded Full Accreditation by the Arts Council for another three years.
Tony Woolrich, hon. curator, said: "It demonstrates that the museum has met a national standard, which strengthens applications for public and private funding and gives investors confidence in the organisation.
"It serves as a standard, rewarding achievement and driving improvement.
"Accreditation enables museums and governing bodies to assess their current performance, and it supports them in planning and developing their services."
Blake Museum has been Fully Accredited since 1996, but has to be re-assessed every three years.
"Alan Hurford, town clerk, said: "A big well done and thank you to each and every volunteer.
"What a success - Full Accreditation to our wonderful Blake Museum, celebrating it's 90th year this year."
The museum re-opens on Tuesday, March 29.
