A TOTAL of £699.42 was raised for Taunton cancer charity Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment in the past week.
SURE, which helps equip the Beacon Centre cancer unit at Musgrove Park Hospital, has now raised £604,156.69 since it teamed up with the County Gazette.
Donations from collection pots included £37.04 at Tesco, Taunton; £43.01 from Tesco Express, Lisieux Way, Taunton; £65 from Teare's newsagents, Wellington, as well as £24.40 from their 5ps pot; £66 from Tesco Express, North Petherton; £21.99 from Somerset Car Auctions, Bridgwater; and £25.23 from Pyne's Butchers, North Petherton.
There was also £105 from the Beacon Brunch Lunch group, raised at its six-monthly get together and raffle, and £15 from Mrs Janet Moran.
Collections of 5p coins totalled £60 from Norman Tomkies, of Street; £12 from Creech St Michael WI; £5 from Pauline and Alfred Van Pelt; £10 from Taunton Handy Man Services; and £80 from Claire Jones and family, of Curry Rivel.
A total of £129.73 was collected at the Beacon Centre, which included £90.50 in 5ps.
