MICHAEL Eavis traded the fields of the Glastonbury Festival for an altogether different setting when he gave a talk in Taunton.

The festival founder was at Queen’s College on Friday night as guest of honour at an event to raise funds for the forthcoming hockey tour to South Africa.

Mr Eavis gave a talk about his fascinating life before a curry supper, an auction of promises and a raffle.

Somerset County Gazette:

The event raised more than £2,500 towards the cost of the tour.

The festival runs at Mr Eavis’ Worthy Farm, in Pilton, over the last weekend of June.
