A SOMERSET business has been shortlisted for five industry awards in the same year they celebrate their 15th anniversary.

O2i Design Consultants, which is based in Langport, has been named as a five-time finalist in regional industry awards, across four different categories.

Founded in June 2001 by Duncan Pyle, O2i Design is a family-run business that offers design and architectural services, specialising in sustainable architecture.

Duncan Pyle, founder and director of O2i Design Consultants, said: “We are delighted to have five entries in the South West finals of the LABC Building Excellence Awards this year.

"The shortlisted projects vary in size and complexity, and we are immensely proud of all of them. We have been privileged to work on these projects with some wonderful clients, engineers, contractors and other highly skilled building professionals, so this accomplishment is testament to all involved.

“Getting this type of industry recognition for our work is extremely rewarding and a great boost for the team as we approach O2i Design’s 15th anniversary in June. Now let’s hope we have cause to extend the celebrations further by being named as one of the winners at the ceremony in July.”

In the past 15 years, O2i Design has handled more than 400 projects, from refurbishing period properties to building state-of-the-art eco homes.

O2i Design projects have been shortlisted across four different categories in this year’s Local Authority Building Control (LABC) South West Building Excellence Awards 2016.

The four categories are: best change of use of an existing building or conversion (two projects nominated), best extension or alteration to an existing home, best individual new home, and best small new housing development.

The projects were nominated for the LABC Awards by the local authority, South Somerset District Council.

The winners of the LABC South West Building Excellence Awards 2016 will be announced at a black tie awards ceremony in Plymouth on July 1.
