TAUNTON will be bursting with bubbles during a special fundraising event as part of the County Gazette’s 180th birthday celebrations.

As part of out 180 Appeal to raise vital funds for St Margaret’s Hospice, an exciting new fun run with a difference has just been launched.

On Sunday, October 2, the Bubble Rush event will take place at Longrun Meadow.

The day is sure to be an amazing occasion suitable for the whole family and an opportunity to raise much-needed cash for the Bishop’s Hull-based hospice.

Participants have to cover a 5km course – but they won’t be up against the clock, it’s all about having as much fun as possible.

Throughout the course there will be various bubble stations, where high-powered foam cannons blow out 30 cubic metres a minute of frothy milkshake bubbles.

A trained team of bubble commandos man each foam cannon to make sure participants get splattered in colourful frothy foam.

County Gazette editor Paul Jones said: “We’re delighted to be launching launch the Bubble Rush alongside our 180 Appeal partners, St Margaret’s Hospice.

“It is a really fun way to get involved with the campaign and we are sure the people of Taunton will be eager to take part.

“After all, who doesn’t love a bit of bubbly, especially for such a good cause?”

Entry fees for the event are £25 for adults and £15 for children aged between four and 16, with everyone taking part receiving a free T-shirt, goodie bag and medal.

As a sponsorship event, participants are encouraged to do all they can to raise money with their colleagues, friends, and family.

Every penny of the funds raised will go to the 180 Appeal, which will help St Margaret’s Hospice care for more than 3,200 people in Somerset each year who are affected by a life-limiting illness.
