THERE was plenty of food and fun on offer at Somerset Care's Big Picnic event in Taunton.

The event, held in Goodland Gardens on Saturday, July 30, was to celebrate the organisation's 25th birthday.

It was open to all ages and there was a bouncy castle, face painting, a Punch and Judy show, WI cake stand, ice cream van and the opportunity to meet and hold four owls.

The Big Picnic started at 11am and soon had a flurry of families with picnic blankets ready to enjoy a few hours in the sunshine.

Assistant director, Nicola Mould said: “I was delighted to be able to attend the picnic on Saturday, it was great to see so many families enjoying all the activities put on to celebrate our 25th birthday.

"As a mother of two energetic eight-year-old boys, I certainly enjoyed them seeing them use their energy up on the bouncy castle.

" They loved the owl exhibition and of course the ice cream went down really well, we had a great afternoon.”
