A MAN'S body was found in woodland in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, August 24).
The discovery in woods off Corkscrew Lane, Taunton, followed an extensive police search.
As well as officers on the ground, the force helicopter was deployed for a lengthy period at around 10.30pm last night.
The man's body was discovered at around 4.30am today.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "Shortly after 4.30am this morning, the body of an adult male was located in woods close to Corkscrew Lane, Taunton.
“This is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
The dead man has not yet been officially identified.
