A POST OFFICE will be restored in Blagdon Hill after the pub it ran from closed earlier this year.

The Post Office has announced that there are plans to restore services in a new hosted outreach service - where a nearby postmaster will visit at a set time every week.

The postmaster from Churchinford Post Office is willing to offer the service from Blagdon Hill Pavillions, Blagdon Hill, every Tuesday from 1- 3pm.

Blagdon Hill Post Office was at The Lamb and Flag Pub until it closed in January earlier this year when the owner decided to sell up.

Field change advisor, Matt Walls, said: “We are now in a position to restore a service to our customers in the community and the establishment of a Hosted service presents the best possible solution in the Blagdon Hill area.”

Customers and anyone else interested are now able to have their say on the plans during a six-week public consultation.

Feedback is welcome on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken on this proposal.

The consultation will close on November 1.
