TUDOR Day at Blackbrook Primary School in Taunton involved children dressing up in magnificent costumes and acting out a story throughout the day.

Having been studying King Henry VIII and his six wives and reading a story relating to the Tudor times, the children had to decide the next chapter in the story, act it out and then write it up later.

As well as enjoying a Tudor feast, including chicken legs, they also ended the day with a jousting session. They used homemade horses heads on top of hockey sticks and foam jousting sticks so nobody was hurt.

Class teacher Toby Sime told the County Gazette: "We had a fantastic day. The children were writing through drama and we had entertainment with some juggling, a Tudor feast and some jousting."
