SANTA will be running down Taunton’s North Street this December as Children’s Hospice South West’s Santas on the Run takes to the town.

For the first time ever, the family event will take place in the town centre to make the most of the other Taunton Christmas activities.

Starting in Castle Green, there will be an event village with entertainment and music before the Santas take to the streets.

Participation in the run helps to support children who are not expected to live until adulthood, as well as their families.

Children’s Hospice South West is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2016, and there are already over 100 runners signed up.

It is hoped that even more Santas than ever will take part in the run.

There is a 2k fun run and you can walk, run or jog the route and children and dogs are welcome.

Santas on the Run takes place on the evening of Thursday December 8, so you can even do your late night Christmas shopping afterwards.

The cost is £15 for adults and £7.50 for children, with a family ticket for £37.50, including your Santa suit and special 25th CHSW Anniversary commemorative medal.
