THE Wellington Bowling club met for its Christmas draw and raised more than £1,500.

Organised by Mike Connor, the night saw members and friends come along for an evening of entertainment and prize winning. In total, 92 prizes were on offer which were donated by local businesses and members to support the bowls club.

More than 1,500 tickets were sold for £1 each, meaning the equivalent has been raised for the club. Proceeds from drink sales on the bar will also be given to the club.

He said: “I wish to thank everyone who helped me, particularly John Cherry, Ernie Windsor and Eddie Norris. I’d also like to thank Bob Clarke, Nick Channon and Diane Troake, Sue Channon, Jenny Windsor among so many others who made it such a success.”
