A 91-YEAR-OLD man has been taken to hospital following a crash in Corkscrew Lane.

The crash involved a car and a van and happened sometime before 11am.

Corkscrew Lane was closed until around 3pm while recovery work of the vehicles took place.

A spokesperson for South West Ambulance Service said they were called just before 11am and that a man had been injured.

The fire service also attended and gave oxygen to the man while they waited for ambulance crews to arrive. 

He has been taken to Musgove Park Hospital for further treatment, but his injuries are not said to be life-threatening.

There is a diversion in place at Staplegrove Road and Kingston Road.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said:" We were called at 11.24am to reports of a crash between a car and a van.

"Officers are still at the scene and the road is closed. 

"A medical accident and emergency doctor stopped at the scene as they were passing by and is attending to the casualty."
