A GROUP of pensioners rolled back the years last week to take part in a Golden Age Olympics.
The sporting exercises were held on Thursday, January 19, at Burnworthy House in South Petherton.
Residents took part in a series of events which included an indoor javelin competition, bean bag throwing and a race to put pegs on a line.
Jaine Thorne, activities co-ordinator at Burnworthy House said: "It is a very nice idea because it encourages them to use hand-eye-coordination.
"They gave me some really good ideas for other things we can also do. It was surprising how strong some of the ladies were.
"It was great and it is just the type of thing we are looking to do. They are still talking about it now."
The golden age olympics are an ongoing challenge with participants best results being collected together and the end of eight weeks.
It part of the Zing Somerset programme, which provides healthy eating, physical activity and weight management services for Somerset.
