ONE person has died and two others injured following a crash on the A358.
Police were called to the scene near the Ilton junction at 6.01pm last night (January 27) to reports of a crash between a lorry and a car.
Three people were injured in the crash, one of which was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash was between a volkswagen passat and Müller milk lorry.
One person was taken to Southmead Hospital with a head injury and another was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital.
A spokesman from Avon and Somerset Police has described the crash as "serious" and says inquiries will continue for some time.
Long traffic queues grew in both directions. The A358 was closed from Thornfalcon up to Southfields roundabout.
There was a heavy emergency services presence with around three fire engines, five ambulances and five police cars at the scene.
Police were diverting people away from the roundabout towards alternative routes.
