A CHILTON Trinity student has big football clubs eyeing up his amazing talent - despite him only having been a goalkeeper for one year.

Dan Steele, aged 16, already has four academies, Yeovil, Southampton, Bristol City and Bristol Rovers looking at him.

Yet Dan only became a goalkeeper by accident after replacing an injured keeper during a game for Yeovil last year.

He has been playing other positions outfield since the age of five.

Dan currently plays for Somerset football and Yeovil Centre of Excellence in the Junior Premier League. He has also played in Bridgwater Schools for three years in a row.

Once he finishes school this year he is going onto Weston College to do A level Maths and English as well as their Sport Academy.

His dream is to play in the Premier League, but also plans to become a sports physiotherapist if the goalkeeping career doesn't work out.

In his first season as a goalie Dan has been named Players' player and Manager's player of the year, and helped his side to three trophies.

Dan said: "The passion I have for the game is unreal and I will do everything I can to be the best of the best. I’ve had knock downs and tough times but I've never given up and I never will do."
