CAREER opportunities were in abundance at Holyrood Academy’s first ever careers fair.

Students were spoilt for choice from the wide range of 21 exhibitors at the fair on Wednesday, February 8.

The event was well supported by representatives from Holyrood’s Sixth Form, employers from the area, colleges, training providers, the armed forces, apprenticeship advisors and many more.

Students came away from the fair with plenty of inspiration, information and the odd freebie.

Harry Hawkins, Year 10, said: “It was brilliant to get to talk to people who actually work at local companies and find out more about what I can do after Holyrood.”

Lucy Hollister, also Year 10 was really pleased to talk with the armed forces representatives.

She added: “I’m so excited about my future and cannot wait until I can sign up.”

Liz Bennet, representing Constructing Excellence, complemented Holyrood's students saying: "What lovely young people there are about. They should be proud of themselves."

Emma Higman, Holyrood’s independent careers advisor who organised the event said: “We are really grateful to the businesses and organisations who supported the fair and look forward to continuing to work closely with them in the future.”
