TAUNTON Town look to take advantage of their game in hand against Wantage Town tonight (ko 7.45pm), with victory putting them two points off second-placed Tiverton Town.

Saturday's 2-0 win against Yate Town, their sixth consecutive victory, sees the Peacocks sit third in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West standings on 64 points.

Tiverton have 69 points, but have played two more games than Leigh Robinson's men.

The Wantage fixture was originally scheduled to be played last month, only to fall victim to a frozen pitch.

So the Peacocks welcome the Alfredians to the Viridor Stadium tonight aiming to do the double over them this season, having won 9-0 away in the reverse fixture.

Owen Irish and Ross Staley scored a hat-trick apiece in that match, with Craig Duff grabbing an brace and Matt Wright one.

Shane White is back in contention after a one-game ban for his red card at Slimbridge, but Ed Palmer (suspension) and Duff (hamstring injury) miss out.

Wantage are second bottom in the table and looking increasingly likely to be relegated - but, although they have only taken four points from their last 10 games, they have only been beaten 1-0 by both Hereford and Salisbury in the last couple of months.

So the Peacocks may look to Jordan Rogers to continue his fine scoring form - three in his last two games - to help break the visitors down.
