A SOMERSET care provider has raised more than £500 for Bridgwater-based charity Ups and Downs Southwest.
Weston-Super-Mare based Poppy's Homecare raised a total of £550 through various fundraising activities.
The charity, which supports children and young people who have Downs Syndrome, was set up 20 years ago by Wendy O'Carroll who's son Oliver was born with the condition.
Although the charity started small, it now supports more than 300 families.
Michelle Sugg, fundraising officer for Ups and Downs Southwest said: “Through various fundraising activities Poppy’s Homecare has raised enough money for us to hold one of our Family Days.
"This is a chance for our families to come together and enjoy an afternoon of play and receive advice from our Family Support Workers.
"From all of us at Ups and Downs Southwest and our families we would like to say a big thank you to the staff at Poppy’s Homecare for supporting us.”
