A ROWER on the River Tone in Taunton town centre got a shock when a swan took a dislike to her activities.
The bird, presumably defending a nest or setting up home for the spring, followed the unfortunate woman along the river near the bridge in Coal Orchard, before launching itself in her direction.
Thankfully, the rower was unharmed and made her way safely past, but it must have been quite a frightening ordeal, which happened at around 5pm on Wednesday afternoon.
The swan pursues the rower along the Tone...
... before launching itself at the vessel...
Thankfully, the rower and the swan were unharmed and the incident passed off peacefully...
