ONCE again one of our schools (Taunton Academy) receives a poor report, which makes great headlines, but at such a bad time (‘Inadequate’, County Gazette, March 2)

New parents could be put off by a report that does nothing but condemn when viewed through a newspaper story.

My granddaughter started at Taunton Academy last September and is reaching levels that have made me have nothing but praise for the quality of teaching at the school.

If a child wants to learn, I will state, this a great school.

State schools are required to take children of all abilities unlike fee paying schools who can pick and choose.

Is it time that there was a review into the way schools are checked by Ofsted, as the system used only reflects the negatives?

This is bad for the staff who, after all their hard work, must think why bother and leave the profession.
