THOSE who haven't yet registered to vote have just over a week to do so. 

People can register to vote in the upcoming General Election until May 22. 

The election takes place on June 8 across the country. 

You don't need to register again if you already have, but if you haven't, head to gov.uk/register-to-vote to make sure your vote counts. 

There will be five candidates in the General Election battling it out to represents Taunton Deane at Westminster.

The five are - in alphabetical order - Gideon Amos (LibDem); Alan Dimmick (UKIP); Martin Jevon (Labour); Clive Martin (The Green Party); and Rebecca Pow (Conservative).

Mr Jevon, Mr Martin and Ms Pow have stood in past elections in the constituency.

Ms Pow won the 2015 election with 27,849 votes (48.1 per cent), defeating seven other candidates.
