AN investigation has been launched after a female cyclist died in Thurloxton.
Police were called out to the scene at Boez Lane near the junction with Mill Lane at about 3.30pm yesterday (Thursday, May 25).
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Initial investigation has suggested that the female cyclist was not involved in a collision.
"A post mortem is to be held to determine the cause of death.
"The coroner has been notified."
Paramedics were called to the scene at 3.15pm to attempt to save the woman.
A spokesman for South Westerm Ambulance Service said: "Despite the efforts of the highly skilled ambulance team on the scene the patient sadly died."
The road was closed for a number of hours following the incident yesterday.
