STAFF, governors and pupils at Milverton Community Primary School have all been praised in a glowing Ofsted report.

Inspector Terry Mortimer concluded that the school continues to be 'good' in his report released last week following his visit last month.

An overwhelmingly positive report said the strong leadership team is "passionate about their pupils and know them extremely well”.

Staff are described as “ambitious in their desire for children to achieve the best possible outcomes”.

And referring to the pupils, it says: "They enjoy being at school and demonstrate exemplary behaviour.

"They feel very safe and have excellent relationships with staff and each other."

One of the children told Mr Mortimer during his time in Milverton: "It is a fantastic school where we learn new things every day."

He reported that the governors show they are clear about the strategic direction of the school and offer appropriate and purposeful challenge to the leadership.

Head teacher Richard Stead told the County Gazette: "The report offers an accurate picture of the school and I am delighted that the hard work and unity of our school community on behalf of our children has been recognised.

"We can all feel rightly proud of our school.”

Mr Mortimer mentioned two areas the school, which was also judged 'good' at its previous inspection in 2012, needs to focus on - challenging girls in maths to work at greater depth while not losing focus on boys' development and writing, especially for boys.
